Gift Aid
Voluntary Contribution
As St Mary's is a Church Aided school we receive less funding from the Government than normal state schools. The Governors have delegated responsibilities to meet 10% of the cost for the physical upkeep of the school. We rely on funding from the local parishes towards this. If your child has been baptised Catholic and you are a practising Catholic then your parish priest makes a contribution of £12 per child per year. The funding is calculated per pupil and involves verification of pupils' names and addresses.
However as many of our children are from different denominations, we would ask you to consider a voluntary contribution to the school Governors Fund. We would also ask you to make the donation under Gift Aid as this allows us to reclaim tax paid by you and so increase the gift by 28%.
It is not obligatory but would help the school fund your children's learning environment. A suggested amount of £4 a month, or alternatively £12 per child or £15 per family per year as a one off annual payment would benefit the school considerably. If every parent/guardian contributed £12 per child the school would receive approximately £3,000.00. You can donate an amount via standing order or use the yellow envelopes available from the school office for cash or cheque. Please make cheques payable to St Mary's Catholic Primary School - Governors account. Complete the summary form below and the attached forms as indicated.
Please feel free to contact me or ask at the office for further information.
Thank you for your time.
